Call for Interest

to participate in the 5th World Water Forum (16 - 22 March, 2009, Istanbul, Turkey)

The USAID Program for Institutional and Regulatory Strengthening of Water Management in Armenia (implemented by PA Government Services, Inc.) announces a competition among NGO representatives active in the field of environmental protection and water resources issues.

The goal of the competition is to stimulate work of local NGOs and the linkages between NGOs and water sector institutions, as well as to raise the overall public awareness on Armenian, regional and international water and sanitation issues.

The competition is open to non-governmental organizations dealing with water resources and environmental issues in Armenia.

Interested NGOs may submit a proposal/motivation letter responding to the following questions:
The focus of your work;
Environmental priorities of your organization;
Details of your organization’s performance history;
How will you and your organization benefit from your participation in the Forum?

The Program is seeking submissions that demonstrate creative thinking, innovative use of information and technology of the NGOs. The winning submissions will be those that clearly demonstrate an original and unique approach to water issues in Armenia as well as demonstrate genuine and proven technical motivation and performance.

Authors must provide the following information in English:
Current CV (including contact information)
Letter of Support from the representative NGO
Proposal

Working language of the conference is English, and proposed participants must demonstrate strong English language command.

Winners will be awarded with all-expenses-paid participation at the World Water Forum, to be held in March 16-22, 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Attention: Submitted packages will not be returned to the applicants. The Program reserves the right not to make any awards should applications fail to satisfy minimal criteria.

The deadline for receipt of submissions is December 24, 2008, 18:00h. Submissions received after this time will be disallowed.
